Science Experiment Project: Final Assignment Instructions

The purpose of this project is to allow you to utilize the process skills that you have learned to design and carry out a scientific investigation. By actually conducting an experiment, you have the opportunity to make observations, classify variables, measure changes, predict results, infer causes of results, and communicate findings.

Each experiment should include:

· A title

· A literature review, with citations, that shows the content an educator would teach to the students to allow them to form a hypothesis. Define and discuss the variables in this section.

· A full description of the experimental design. This should include a detailed list of exact materials and a procedure that one could use to repeat or replicate the experiment.

· A hypothesis stated in if/then format

· A listing of all variables (labeled as independent, dependent, and control)

· A log of observations,

· A graph of results

· Conclusions based on the log of observations and graph of results. Based on the data, discuss whether or not the hypothesis was correct or incorrect and why.

For this assignment, you will submit a final paper that includes the information from your Science Experiment Project Proposal (with corrections, if any) and the following additional information:

Experiment/Investigation Plan

Data Collection: (actually do the experiment)

Log of Observations:

Graph of Results:

Inference/Conclusion:

Although there is no minimum length requirement, all areas must be thoroughly addressed. Review the Science Experiment Project: Final Grading Rubric to ensure you include all required information.

Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
